press
Press may be in attendance at the NARWC Annual Meeting, but may be restricted from aspects of the meeting. Additionally, all meeting participants, including members of the press, must agree to the meeting Code of Conduct. This includes the provision of no recording (including but not limited to video, audio, screenshots, or photography) or sharing (including social media) of any material (including but not limited to presentations, discussions, breakout sessions) without explicit consent of the presenter, speaker, moderator, etc.
While we respect and appreciate the importance of media on right whale issues, many of the presentations are of works in progress that are being shared in confidence among colleagues. It would be detrimental to the study, the researchers, and the whales if the results of work in progress appeared in the media prior to their publication in a scientific journal.
Press interested in attending should be in touch with the Executive Administrator.
