- Whales have long been an aspect of Wampanoag spirituality and understanding of the world. They are a part of our oldest stories and considered to be family. They still carry our oldest songs. This is particularly true for the Right Whale, a cousin we were once co-opted into hunting for global markets.
In this workshop, learn about the relationship Wampanoag and other coastal Indigenous peoples have with the Right Whale, our drift whale practices, and the need to advocate for the legal personhood of whales to be established in Western law practices. - Open to ALL interested parties (onsite and remote). Workshop will be capped at 40 onsite participants.
